Rally DetailPendleton is home to the World Famous Pendleton Round Up.Gallup into town early on Thursday cause there’s watering trough full of things to see and do – take the Underground Tour (call for a reservation) and visit Pendleton of the past, its forgotten passages, Chinese jail cells, and shall we say “abodes of working girls?” There is a passel of history in Pendleton.Done your spurs and visit and take in some Native American culture at the Tamastslikt museum. Take a short ride east of town and try your luck at the Wildhorse Casino. There is more that a dusty rider can do in one visit…so we know you will want to point your steed on the trail to return again to Pendleton. Check in at the host hotel, the Red Lion and rest up a bit, and then wander on down to the Slickfork Saloon for an Opening Ceremony and Reception that will include some brass from H.O.G. Later, when the sun is a settin’ rustle up some grub at one of two great steakhouses, right downtown. We’ll saddle up again come Friday mornin’ and head west…time’s a wastin’ – Cowboy Up! From Pendleton we're off to Mt. Hood. Nestled in the western highlands of Mt. Hood just an hour east of Portland, The Resort at The Mountain is a premier Oregon golf, ski & meeting resort. With a unique Scottish ambiance, exceptional service, and the natural beauty of national forests and clear running streams akin to the Scottish Highlands. The Resort offers year-round activities including 27 holes of awe-inspiring golf, swimming, tennis, championship croquet, lawn bowling and quick access to hiking, fly fishing and sightseeing. Put your bedroll down and wander over to the Resort at the Mountain for a no host welcome reception & buffet dinner Friday night and don't miss the prize drawing. Saturday July 12th, Go West, due West, HOG friends. Our final stop is Seaside Oregon. Seaside is a destination paradise where miles of sandy beaches, spectacular ocean views, historical sites and unique natural settings await you. This is a walking town, so park the bike, and get ready to wiggle your toes in the sand. Take the afternoon and stroll along the boardwalk or find that lucky seashell in the sand. Adventure on and rent a paddle boat along the Necanicum River located in the middle of Seaside. The Seaside Aquarium is a popular attraction that has an array of seals and other marine life to enjoy. While the city is full of fun and variety, Bike Fest of Seaside will be in full swing as well. In the evening, we will gather at the convention center for awards, prizes and of course a “party” full of music and HOG friends. |
